Pinup of the Month October 2018 - Belles B Ringing!

Meet Belles B Ringing, our classy and sassy Pinup of the Month for October. Belles hails from Sydney, Australia and is the head Pinup at Pinup Doll Australia, Australia's biggest Pinup competition - a competition that collectively raised $41,741.46 for charity this year.

How did you choose your Pinup name?

I was searching for a name when an other gentleman approached me one day to let me know that he loved my style and it reminded him of his youth, he said to me in my day if a lady like you walked past you would have had everyones "bell ringing" thus Belles B Ringing was born for all the beautiful women (Belles) who still ring those bells.

Why do you love pinup?

I love Pinup for the confidence it has given me, the style suited my body shape and when I wore pinup I felt amazing. I am very proud to represent the curvy Pinups who stand defiant against society norms and show that beauty comes in all sizes.

Favourite Pinup beauty tip

My favorite beauty tip is hydrate your skin. if you look after your skin (Clean, tone and mositurise) before primer and foundation you will have that flawless skin.

What’s your favourite aspect of the Pinup and Rockabilly subculture?

My favorite aspect of the pinup/rockabilly scene is how embracing the community is of subculture. There is no right or wrong way to do Pinup and I love how people are taking their individual styles and all the amazing subcultures that are coming through.

When did you know that pinup was the right thing for you?

I think I always knew pinup was for me. I grew up watching the classic Bill Collins golden years of Hollywood movies and I wanted to be those women; beautiful, confident, sassy and full of gumption.

What advice would you like to give to new pinups?

To the new pinups coming through, always remeber why pinup is important to you. Sadly not everyone is going to be welcoming, but hold your head up and be "you", always proud and embracing your type of pinup.

Favourite business shoutout!

So many amazing businesses!

For makeup, Besame Australia.

Hair products, suavecita stocked at Cut throat.

Shoes, Charlie stone

Clothes, Natasha Marie Clothing - because I am a vixen.

What living person, other than family members, do you most admire?

I am a bit biassed on this because I run Pinup Doll Australia, I admire all the sponsors who choose to give back to the community by supporting our event, most of these are small businesses who are just making ends meet and this means the world to me that they support us, All the mentors and committee members who devote countless hours to assist our Pinup Dolls and lastly the Pinup Dolls who bravely enter each year - its not easy to bring your interpretation of Pinup to a National stage.
