Pinup of the Month for June '19 - Miss Anita

Say Hi to our fabulous June Pinup of the Month, Miss Anita Simpson! Anita is a tattooed burst of energy and smiles from the UK with some very wise words (and great photos) for us all.

Anita has also won a custom design doll from The Little Taylor and we can't wait to see the finished product!

How did you choose your Pinup name?

Hi all. My pinup name is just my name , so Miss Anita Simpson, the reason for this is I could not decide on one and so many people got to know me just by this quite quickly so I decided to stick with it.

Why do you love pinup?

I love pinup because I can finally be me. I never felt completely comfortable in my clothes until I started dressing this way. I first dressed pinup probably about 7 years ago and now I dress 50s everyday, I love it. I love dressing in gorgeous frocks with fluffy petticoats, showing of my tattoos and I receive loads of compliments on my style all the time.

What’s your favourite aspect of the Pinup and Rockabilly subculture?

I love the Pinup community, I have made so many new friends, and the feeling of being part of this is fabulous. Most of the pinups I know will do all they can to build you up and make you feel good about yourself. The support amongst the Pinup community is something I really love. I love to support my friends in their ventures and I have modelled for quite a few of them, to help them with their businesses.

I like to support businesses when I can and I have been involved in quite a few collaborations with different brands, these include, voodoo vixen, Miss Fortune uk, Rock N Romance, Erstwilder, Joe Browns, to name just a few. I am also a full time model for Carnation Retro which is a small business , making retro clothing.

What advice would you like to give to new pinups?

Advice I would give to new pinups would be just be you , don’t think that you aren’t ‘doing it right’ just enjoy yourself, there are no set rules, pinups support pinups.

Favourite person shoutout!

I run quite an active Instagram page, and have a very Good ‘Instagram hubby’ Andy , who takes my pics for me, and puts up with me and my constant hunt with different places to take pictures

Favourite business shoutout.
