How did you choseyour Pinup name?
Helen - hell on heels / be there with bells on... equals Hells Belles!
Why do you love pinup?
I adore dressing up, extreme glamour, making sure the clothing era matches, and I LOVE coordinating colours. I also love being surrounded by the beautiful things and interesting and empathetic people. It just rocks my world!
Would you like to share your favourite beauty tip with us?
Happiness, balance, confidence... and a little chocolate, I'm very lucky with my skin. I have to admit that I never take my makeup off!
What's your favourite aspect of the Pinup and Rockabilly Subculture?
The fantastic music, fun dancing and hot fashion. But the most gratifying thing is I have found the most beautiful bunch of elegant, interesting, unique, misunderstood people. And they are my tribe.
When did you know that pinup was the right thing for you?
I have been a Rock n Roll dancer, princess (!), and vintage enthusiast for at least 25 years. So 1950's and all eras of vintage styles including Pinup have been a big part of my life for a long time.
What advice would you like to give to new pinups?
First- watch and learn. Practice your posing, hair and makeup skills. And ask for help- I've found that most of the ladies on stage are happy to mentor, share and recommend if they are asked.
Favourite business shoutout!?
I'm passionate about old Hollywood elegance and I finally got the chance to create my own vintage inspired collection, called The Vintage Seamstress which was a long term dream come true! I launched the collection last November, after a whirlwind turn around time of only five months from concept to creation of the Pinups on the Runway launch. Which we held at the Rosebud Vintage Bazaar. I was so grateful to all my pinup gals modelling for me on that day!
